The Past Month

We have started to potty train Taylee and it hasn't been going so well. So far she has gone potty on the carpet, the kitchen tile, (2 times) the bathroom tile, and the porch. Only one time has she actually gone on the toilet. I guess we shouldn't be complaining after only 1 day, but that's a lot of pee to clean up and new underwear to change! She tells me she has to go potty so we go into the bathroom to try and she will sit for a while but will never go. She hasn't grasped the concept yet, but I'm hoping for better results this week, we shall see.
Here she is reading the latest issue of Garden Design Magazine. When she sat down she said "I need book Mama."
Last Monday we took a drive to Fairfield California to take a tour at the Jelly Belly Factory. The tour was actually not that interesting because the factory workers were off that day so they weren't producing anything. But we sure did eat a lot of free jelly belly's, and came home with quite a bit too.
Who says you can't get out the Halloween carving tools in July! We decided this should be our new 4th of July Tradition: Watermelon Carving!

Eric's family came down for the 4th. Here's Kaleb and Taylee playing out on the lawn.
Swimming in the pool.

Taylee kept walking around the pool with her hands on her hips.

Eric and Taylee love olives so last week we bought a few different sizes of olives: Large, Jumbo, and Colossal! Taylee is eating the Colossal size. She called them "BIG ONES."

Don't give up on the potty training! It's HARD...and yes PEE everywhere! I think it took me a month and 1/2 of Pee-pee everywhere except the potty. I think I ended up getting Brandt 12 undies and we'd go through at least 6 a day.

It takes them a little while for thier little bodies and brain to connect having to go and making it to the potty, but she'll do it.

It took us about 6 months total, to get it ALL down (#1 and #2) but I think he had peeing down by month 3! Taylee's a girl, so she should probably catch on even faster!

Whatever you do, don't resort to pull-ups. We only use those at bed-time. ( Brandt still pees at night!) It confuses them because it's too much like a diaper. Besides, they're stinkin' expensive! Hugs! Love you guys!
